As the first vegetarian establishment in Glastonbury the ethics behind a vegetarian lifestyle have always been very important to us, but they were not our original message behind the cafe, which was to disprove the general view of vegetarian food being boring, bland, ‘rabbit food’. Our aim has always
been to make excellent food of the highest taste and quality which just happens to be vegetarian or vegan, and can be enjoyed by everyone.
This was the original aim, but as we became increasingly aware of our impact on the environment, and consumption of the planet Earths resources, this has also become part of our own personal reason for being vegetarian. The vast amount of rain forest and green lands being taken over to either graze animals or to grow their feed is astonishing and increasing every day, our planet cannot sustain this amount of consumption.
“We only hope that in years to come, people will look back on the way we currently treat animals as we do with human exploitations of the past.”
